Rajat Khare Invests in Aero 41 to Accelerate Growth in Precision Agriculture

Swiss-based agro-technology company Aero 41 has raised seed funding from Boundary Holding, a European deep-tech investment firm founded by Rajat Khare, to accelerate its growth in the rapidly evolving precision agriculture sector. While the financial details of the investment have not been disclosed, the funding marks a significant milestone for the company’s expansion plans.

Aero 41 is a home-grown agri-tech innovator specializing in drone-based crop spraying solutions, combining advanced Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) with proprietary software to improve efficiency, safety, and sustainability in modern farming. The company supplies agricultural drones and spare parts to farmers and resellers, helping optimize pesticide application across a range of crops.

The fresh capital will be used to expand Aero 41’s service offerings, introduce support for additional crop types, and scale sales operations across Europe and the United States. The company is also focused on developing next-generation technologies that address some of the most pressing challenges faced by farmers today.

The integration of technology into agriculture has become unavoidable, particularly as farmers confront issues such as labor shortages, rising operational costs, and environmental concerns. Traditional pesticide spraying methods often expose farmers to health risks due to direct contact with chemicals during preparation and application. Prolonged exposure can have harmful effects on both human health and the environment.

In contrast, UAV-based crop spraying offers a safer and more precise alternative. Drone sprayers can reach difficult terrains, reduce chemical waste, and minimize human exposure to pesticides—making them an increasingly preferred solution in modern agriculture.

One of Aero 41’s flagship innovations, the 17-litre AGv2 drone, has been developed in Switzerland to meet the strict operational requirements of vineyards and vertically growing, high-value crops. With a processing speed of 10.5 km per hour, the AGv2 improves operational efficiency during spraying campaigns. Its optimized spraying ramp ensures uniform distribution, making it especially attractive to organic farmers seeking automated solutions with minimal human intervention.

Commenting on the investment, Rajat Khare, Founder of Boundary Holding, highlighted the growing importance of drone technology in agriculture.

“Drone usage in the agricultural sector is booming. Drone sprayers can navigate hard-to-reach areas such as steep fields and high-elevation farms. They also reduce the need for workers to carry hazardous backpack sprayers. Aero 41’s technology allows targeted spraying, maximizing efficiency while significantly reducing chemical costs,” Khare said.

According to both parties, the partnership goes beyond capital infusion. Boundary Holding will support Aero 41 through strategic guidance, market expansion, and long-term growth planning, strengthening the company’s position in the global agri-tech ecosystem.

The investment comes at a time when the global smart agriculture market is witnessing rapid growth. Valued at approximately $16 billion in 2019, the market is projected to reach $29 billion by 2027, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.7%. This surge reflects the accelerating adoption of technology-driven solutions that make agriculture more productive, safer, and environmentally sustainable.

With backing from Rajat Khare and Boundary Holding, Aero 41 is well-positioned to play a key role in shaping the future of precision agriculture worldwide.
